My new and
Improved Bender!
| You know how it is, you get so busy doing
something, even if its difficult work, that you can't seem to
find the time to stop and make the job easier! Well I
finally got to the point where I needed the job to be a little
easier. You have all seen my original tubing bender.
If not, then click on the word BENDER and take a quick look.
I'm sure you will notice the differences in that one and this one
right away. |
| There are now two dies and two rollers. This
allows me to make two bends without having to remove the tubing
from the bender. In the past, it was difficult and time
consuming, keeping everything lined up. This is a much
better arrangement. |
Of course, it still takes two of us to make the
bends. |
Take a look at the fruit of our labors. All this
ends up looking like the frame in the next photo. |
This is what it is all about. |
| For all of you struggling with failing eyesight,
(me) here is a close-up of one of the new dies, as I was shaping
it on my trusty lathe. |
| Here is another for all of you not use to looking
through a microscope to read the phonebook :-) This was a piece of
scrap aluminum that my wallet rescued from the scrap yard.
Good wallet.....good boy. |
| Hey, what! Where is the middle of that
thing? There ain't one! Like I said, this was a
rescue. Rescuers can't be choosers. Besides, there is
a metal plate that bolds onto either side of it with a
hole in it for the bolt that secures it to the bender. Believe me
this arrangement works just fine. If you don't think so,
